Official proclamation from the State of Nevada Executive Department issued by the Governor.

WHEREAS, September 11, 2026, marks the 25th anniversary of the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed our nation and claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 innocent Americans; and

WHEREAS, we honor and remember the victims, survivors, families, and loved ones whose lives were forever changed, and we preserve the memory of all those who were lost on that solemn day; and

WHEREAS, the courage and selflessness demonstrated by firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, military members, first responders, and ordinary citizens exemplified the strength, compassion and resilience of the American spirit during the face of profound tragedy; and

WHEREAS, the 25th anniversary provides an opportunity for our community to reflect upon the enduring lessons of September 11 and to reaffirm our commitment to unity, service, freedom, and standing together in times of adversity; and

WHEREAS, Patriot Day calls upon all Americans to pause in remembrance, express gratitude to those who serve and protect our communities and nation, and ensure the sacrifices of September 11 are never forgotten; and

WHEREAS, Article 5, Section 1 of the Nevada Constitution provides: "The supreme executive power of this State, shall be vested in a Chief Magistrate who shall be Governor of the State of Nevada."

NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada and the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:

The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds from sunrise until sunset on Friday, September 11, 2026, in honor and remembrance of Patriot Day.
