North Las Vegas Day

WHEREAS, the City of North Las Vegas proudly celebrates its 80th Anniversary in 2026, marking eight decades of growth, resilience, and community spirit since its incorporation in 1946; and

WHEREAS, what began as a small desert community has flourished into a dynamic and diverse city, shaped by the dedication, innovation, and perseverance of its residents, businesses, and leaders; and

WHEREAS, throughout its history, North Las Vegas has played a vital role in the development of Southern Nevada, contributing to regional economic growth, public service, and cultural enrichment; and

WHEREAS, the City honors the vision of its founders and the generations of families, workers, educators, first responders, and community partners whose efforts have built a strong and vibrant community; and

WHEREAS, the 80th Anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the City's proud history, celebrate its achievements, and look forward with optimism to a future of continued progress and opportunity; and

WHEREAS, North Las Vegas Day serves as a time for residents and visitors alike to come together in unity and pride to commemorate this significant milestone; 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim May 2, 2026 as 

NORTH LAS VEGAS DAY IN NEVADA
