Hispanic Heritage Month in Nevada

WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month is observed annually from September 15 through October 15, providing an opportunity to celebrate the rich history, vibrant cultures, enduring traditions, and extraordinary contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to our nation and our state; and

WHEREAS, this observance celebrates the enduring contributions of Hispanic Americans, whose influence continues to shape the social, economic, and cultural strength of the Silver State; and

WHEREAS, from educators and health care professionals to entrepreneurs, farmers, hospitality workers, artists, scientists, athletes, first responders, public servants, veterans, and members of our Armed Forces, Hispanic and Latino Nevadans contribute every day to the prosperity, security, and quality of life of our state; and

WHEREAS, the Hispanic community's commitment to family, faith, hard work, education, service, and perseverance has strengthened Nevada and inspired generations to pursue their dreams while creating greater opportunities for those who follow; and

WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month provides an opportunity to honor the vibrant spirit, resilience, and inspiring commitment of Hispanic and Latino Nevadans to our shared American and Nevada values; and

WHEREAS, the legacy of Hispanic and Latino Nevadans is woven into the history of our state, and their achievements and aspirations continue to inspire future generations and enrich Nevada for years to come; and

WHEREAS, in every corner of our state, Hispanic and Latino Americans have filled our communities with rich traditions and abundant culture, and the Silver State is proud to recognize their many contributions to our state and nation during Hispanic Heritage Month; 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of September 15 – October 15, 2026, as 

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH IN NEVADA
