Careers in Construction Month in Nevada

WHEREAS, Careers in Construction Month is observed annually to increase public awareness and appreciation of construction professionals and the entire construction workforce; and

WHEREAS, the construction industry is a vital contributor to the economy and infrastructure of the State of Nevada, providing well-paying jobs for thousands of Nevadans and playing a crucial role in the development of safe, sustainable, and innovative communities; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada recognizes the importance of educating and encouraging our youth and workforce about the many rewarding and viable career paths available within the construction industry; and

WHEREAS, the demand for skilled workers in the construction sector continues to grow, highlighting the need for training, education, and apprenticeship programs that will prepare the next generation of industry professionals; and

WHEREAS, careers in construction offer a wide range of opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds and skill levels, from skilled tradespeople to engineers, architects, project managers, and beyond; and

WHEREAS, construction is one of Nevada's largest and most vital industries, supporting the continued development, infrastructure, and economic growth of communities throughout the state; and

WHEREAS, organizations such as the Nevada Contractors Association, the Nevada Chapter of Associated General Contractors (AGC), Building & Construction Trades Council of Northern Nevada (BCTNN), construction companies, educational institutions, and community partners are actively engaged in promoting careers in construction through events, initiatives, and outreach efforts throughout the year; and

WHEREAS, during the month of October, employers, industry associations, schools, and community organizations are encouraged to conduct career fairs, panel discussions, hands-on activities, and other events that introduce students and job seekers to the wide range of career opportunities available within the Construction industry; and

WHEREAS, these workforce development efforts help address industry workforce needs while providing Nevadans with greater access to meaningful, rewarding, and long-term careers;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of October 2026 as
