Agricultural Heritage Month in Nevada

WHEREAS, the Nevada Department of Agriculture brings their mission to preserve, protect and promote Nevada agriculture to the people of the Silver State; and

WHEREAS, we recognize the agricultural settlers of Nevada as they committed to the land and built communities off the sustenance they produced; and

WHEREAS, Nevada's food and agriculture sectors are now a $6.5 billion industry; and

WHEREAS, we recognize the impact agriculture has had on the heritage of the Silver State; and

WHEREAS, the official State Fair of Nevada will return to the Nevada State Fairgrounds June 11-13, connecting residents with local food and educating where that food comes from, highlighting Nevada's history and diverse communities, and enriching Nevada's agricultural heritage; and

WHEREAS, Nevada's agricultural youth participating in the Nevada Junior Livestock Show and the University of Nevada, Reno Extension's 4-H State Expo will showcase their hard work and dedication to continuing Nevada's agricultural roots and heritage; and

WHEREAS, the fairgrounds will transition to host the Reno Rodeo June 18-27, boasting the "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West"; 


NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim June 2026 as 


AGRICULTURAL HERITAGE MONTH IN NEVADA
