A Day in Honor of Sergeant Guy Davis
WHEREAS, Sergeant Guy Davis began his 27-year law enforcement career in August 1999 as a patrol officer with the Department of Public Safety, Nevada Highway Patrol; and
WHEREAS, in April 2003, Sergeant Davis transferred out of the Urban Las Vegas District to serve as a Trooper to the residents and community in the Alamo/Pioche District; and
WHEREAS, in October 2012, Sergeant Davis was promoted to the rank of Sergeant for the Nevada Highway Patrol, where he was assigned to oversee personnel in the Alamo/Pioche District; and
WHEREAS, throughout Sergeant Davis's time at the Nevada Highway Patrol he has served as a Master Range Instructor. Defensive Tactics Instructor, and Public Safety Training Officer (PSTO) for the Nevada State Police; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Davis has also been recognized by the Nevada State Police by receiving a Medal of Valor, Purple Heart, Lifesaving Ribbon, Academic Achievement Award, Top Gun Award and the Rotary Club Recognition Award throughout his career; and
WHEREAS, on behalf of all Nevadans, we extend to Sergeant Davis our sincere thanks and gratitude for his 27 years of professional excellence and loyal service to the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, be it resolved that we honor and commend Sergeant Guy Davis for his commitment, outstanding service, and lasting contributions to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Nevada. We especially recognize his heartfelt dedication to the Nevada State Police, where he maintained professional excellence and loyal service and upheld dignity and respect in every assignment;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim August 2, 2026, as a day in honor of
