A Day in Honor of Joy Ellen Gonzales

WHEREAS, Joy Ellen Gonzales is retiring from the Department of Motor Vehicles on July 31, 2026, after 26 years of professional excellence and loyal service to the State of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Joy started her career with the Department of Motor Vehicles on June 26, 2000, as a Field Services Technician Trainee and continued to progress through the various Technician ranks I, II, III; and

WHEREAS, Joy was promoted to Drive Examiner/Technician IV on July 16, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Joy was promoted to Supervisor I at the Fallon DMV on August 24, 2015; and  

WHEREAS, Joy consistently demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and leadership throughout her career and served as a role model for both new and seasoned employees alike; and  

WHEREAS, Joy approached every challenge with a positive attitude and a solutions-oriented mindset, contributing to numerous process improvements and advancing the mission of the DMV; and

WHEREAS, Joy has endeared herself to all with her vast knowledge, dedication to service, and compassion for others; and

WHEREAS, Joy will be sincerely missed, both professionally and personally, by all those who had the pleasure and good fortune to work with her; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Motor Vehicles and the State of Nevada join with co-workers and management in expressing our profound and sincere appreciation for Joy's 26 years of outstanding service to this Department and the residents of our Silver State, earning her right to enjoy a well-deserved and happy retirement; 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim July 31, 2026, as a day in honor of
