A Day in Honor of Dorothea Alexander

Proclamation

WHEREAS, Dorothea Alexander is retiring from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, on July 3, 2026, after over 29 years of loyal, diligent, and exceptional public service to the State of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Dorothea began her distinguished career in state service with the Department of Corrections in 1996 as a Clerical Trainee after gaining state service credit during her senior year of high school; and

WHEREAS, Dorothea continued to grow in her profession over the years, serving in roles including Administrative Assistant I for the Department of Corrections, and Accounting Assistant I and Accounting Assistant II for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Administrative Services, and she will be retiring as a Senior Accounting Assistant for the Office of Fiscal Management within the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection; and

WHEREAS, Dorothea's steady commitment, reliability, and knowledge of her work have contributed to the daily operations of her division, and her colleagues appreciate the support and consistency she has provided throughout her career; and  

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada recognizes and thanks Dorothea Alexander for her many years of service to the citizens and visitors of our great state and extends heartfelt best wishes for a joyful, healthy, and fulfilling retirement; 


NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim July 3, 2026, as a day in honor of 

DOROTHEA ALEXANDER
