Nevada Lowering Flags to Honor Dolly Parton
CARSON CITY, Nev. – In accordance with President Donald Trump's proclamation honoring the memory of Dolly Parton, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has ordered the flags of the United States and State of Nevada to be lowered to half-staff until sunset on September 1, 2026.
"Dolly Parton is an American icon who touched the lives of millions through her philanthropy, generosity, and her legendary songbook," said Governor Lombardo. "Donna and I join countless Americans in mourning her passing and extend our condolences to her family, friends, and all those who admired her life and music. Nevada will be lowering its flags to honor her remarkable life and legacy."
Accordingly, since no flag should fly higher than the United States flag, all other flags, including state, municipal, corporate, or otherwise, should also be lowered during this time.
